Primary function is to assume overall responsibility and authority for administrative and leadership functions, supervision of the organizational plan, and responsibility for ongoing communication with the Governing Body and the Interdisciplinary Group/Team (IDG/IOT), as well as the Hospice staff.
Prolonged sitting is required. Requires ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner at all times. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and the Hospice needs.
Must be a hospice employee and a licensed physician, registered nurse (RN), licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator. Must have at least a high school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED). Must comply with required training for Administration of Agencies as described in the Texas Administrative Code TAC, §558.259 & §558.260.
If a licensed physician, registered nurse, licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator — must have at least one year of management or supervisorv experience in a health related setting such as home and community support services agency, hospital, nursing facility, hospice, outpatient rehabilitation center, psychiatric facility, intermediate care facility for individuals with an intellectual disability or related conditions or related conditions, or a licensed healthcare delivery setting for providing services for individuals with functional disabilities. Non-licensed candidates must have at least two years of management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff, the lay and professional public, the Governing Body, the IDG/IDT, and the Medical Director. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
